Having a good, a positive role model to look up to is important, especially for young people. When you are young you can be influenced easier and it can determine how you’re going to be for the rest of your life. Also, young people don’t know much, even the intelligent ones.
Young people are more easily influenced, and I believe that is because they might not know all the facts behind something they like. All they know for sure is that they like it. I used to feel like that about some things. A role model can give the young a person to look up to. Older people try to make young people follow a role model’s life to the t. They should only look to them for guidance, not imitate them or copy them.
Our young people today aren’t stupid, they just don’t take to time to read up on something they’re interested in. This is why a lot of them take part in actions that they think they want to be involved in, but if they new what that person, place, or thing was all about, they probably wouldn’t. Some groups or organizations are all about spreading hate or teaching hate. Some youths are okay with that, and that’s on them. I really don’t care what they think or do, long as they don’t bring it around me. For the most part, most youths don’t know any better and are good kids. People use "bad apples" to speak metaphorically about troublesome youths. I feel that all apples are bad, until they ripen. I think having a role model to look up to can help age our youths like fine wine. If our society keeps letting them grow up without a push in the positive direction, we’re just going to keep raising "sour grapes" instead.
